In Edremit, on 15 October 2021 the <em>Memorandum of Understanding <\/em>of the LDA Edremit (Local Democracy Agency of Edremit) in which ALDA is partner together with other local, national, and international members, was signed.<\/p><p>In 2020, the Municipality of Edremit received the &#8220;Diploma of Intermunicipal and Interregional Partnership&#8221; from the Congress of Regional and Local Authorities of the Council of Europe for its role as active partner in the development of local democracy in Europe and its engagement in the ALDA network.<\/p><p>The City of Edremit has in fact been awarded five times &#8211; in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 &#8211; the title &#8220;Partner of the European Local Democracy Week&#8221; as part of the celebrations for the European Local Democracy Week developed by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
